Today we went to Chris and Marlissa’s wedding at the Valencia Hyatt. The ceremony was very elegant and you could see the emotion in Chris and Marlissa. It was wonderful to see many friends that I haven’t seen since High School. The reception was a blast…I don’t think they could have wished for a better wedding.
This trip reminds me how much I miss everyone in the valley…I’ll need to make more regular visits! Here is a picture of the whole class of 95 gang.

Karen threw a suprise birthday party for me today…and was I ever suprised! I bought the whole thing hook, line and sinker. I thought I was just going golfing with Mehdi and Chad, but was I ever wrong. Upon returning from the golf game, I found my living room packed full of friends and family waiting to suprise me. Took me about 30 seconds to actually understand what was going on. And after hearing all the stories, I am thoroughly impressed with how Karen and all her helpers were able to pull the whole thing off. Thanks Karen for a fabulous birthday party, and thanks everyone who was there to celebrate with me!

Wishing all those father’s out there a Happy Father’s Day. We spent the day with Karen’s Dad, Jim. Took the dogs down to the lake and spent the afternoon relaxing.

Today we attended the wedding of Mishelle Young and Wade Vetter at the Faith Lutheran Church in Marysville, Ca. officiated by Rev. Brian P. Stroffregen. The service was awesome…you could really see the excitement in both their faces and their love for one another. The most touching part of the ceremony was actually when Wade made a vow to Nathan, Mishelle’s son, to be the best father possible for Nathan.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Peach Tree Country Club in Marysville. Great food, good music and all around a good time. We wish Mishelle and Wade a fabulous honeymoon and we’re grateful to have had the opportunity to share this special day with them.

We went camping this weekend to Rollins Lake, just north of Colfax. Seven couples showed up from the Lakeside Young Marrieds group. The weather was awesome…not too hot, not too cold. Check out the view from the campsite. As you can see, we were able to tie the boat up right next to where we were camping so we spent all day Saturday on the lake wakeboarding, skiing and tubing. We had a great time and Karen and I are definitely looking forward to the next camping trip!
